Sunday – more snow!

Hi Everyone –

Sorry I’ve been so out of the loop this snowy weekend! I had to look back to see when my last post was – and that was late Thursday night. Wow, so it has been a couple of days. This will be a bit of a catch up post – I will recap what has been going on for the last couple of days.

Friday I went to the gym and did a run / jog for 3.1 miles. Fun. I took two minutes off my time from the previous week – which was pretty easy to do since I did not walk during this 5K.

After the gym, I had a piece of Amish Friendship Bread which I toasted in the the toaster oven and a glass of milk with a scoop of my protein powder.  It was a satisfying breakfast.

Before the snow started – I went down to Brookline to say hi to my friend Jenn and deliver some of her very belated birthday presents!  Along with her actual gift, I included some other fun stuff – a starter of Amish Friendship Bread,

a cupcake from Bread & Chocolate (my favorite bakery – which is right across the street from my house!) and a little individual sample of Barney Butter – Yum!

I got home just in time to see the first snowflakes fall – it was a very cool thing to actually see the first snow flakes fall of a huge storm. Ben later told me that this is good luck… 🙂

I guess one reason I haven’t been posting is that I have not been feeling all that well the last couple of days – so I’ve been eating weird stuff.  For lunch I had a small bowl of chicken broth (that was exciting!!) and later I had a piece of Arnold’s seven grain bread with peanut butter and a banana on top.

By dinner time I was feeling a bit better – but I forgot to take a picture of what I had for dinner. I piece of chicken and some macaroni and cheese that Ben made. It was a great combo!  By this time the snow was really coming down – and I was truly enjoying a snow day (or snow night!)

We are very lucky to have a lot of shops in our neighborhood that we can walk to. We have a Shaw’s grocery store, a CVS pharmacy, a cafe that has great sandwiches (Taste) and a bakery that has the best cupcakes, danish, scones, cinnamon buns and hot chocolate in the world! For those of you who have not checked out Bread & Chocolate – make your way to 108 Madison Ave in Newtonville, MA and enjoy!

My point being, during a snow storm, we are lucky because we can still walk to the stores and pick up essentials (and treats!) and it makes the snow a lot of fun.

During the snow storm we walked over to Shaws – thankfully we were already set on food (everyone else was in a mad dash for bread and milk, I guess!) and we Red Boxed  a movie for the night. Have you used Red Box before? It was the first time we had got a movie from there – and it was pretty cool – a movie for one night, for one dollar!

Well, I started this blog entry Sunday morning around 11AM. . . and then Ben and I spent the next two hours putting essential updates on to my computer ( a fairly old MAC iBook G4 ) and then I got side tracked… well, I will publish this and start a new post!
