There have been a few fun events in the last week that I am behind in reporting on.
Thomas Keller:
Last Friday Danielle, Tim and I went to a book signing and met Thomas Keller – another one of our favorite chefs. We waited in line for an hour, and we had a lot of fun chatting and talking about cuisine during our wait:
As we got closer and closer to the front of the line, I started getting so nervous. The anticipation was killing me! Somehow I got through the line, met Thomas Keller, and even got a photograph with him:
Tim and Chef Keller look really serious in this snap shot:
Wow.
The autograph and message in my copy of Ad Hoc is so beautiful:
Mother’s Day:
As you (hopefully) know, Mother’s day was last Sunday. My sister, mom and I had a totally fun day in Boston. We went on a Duck Tour:
It was a super breezy windy day, and my mom was wearing her winter jacket. I was ok in my fleece, and my sister was wearing two jackets. After the duck tour we went to the Science Museum, where I (once again) fell in love with the hatching chicks.
After a change of clothes, we were off to the Taj for a mother’s day tea:
The tea was wonderful, great finger sandwiches and pastries. I enjoyed a lovely chai tea, which had just the right amount of spice to it.
On the way home from Tea, mom and I stopped in to Savenor’s market which is the most amazing little place. I was not really in the mood to shop, but I really had a fun time looking around. Savenor’s is sort of a Boston area institution. It opened in 1939 and lots of famous people shopped (and currently shop) at the market. Of course my favorite patron of the market was Julia Child. I thought of her as I looked around. My mom had to take a snap shot…
Oh Julia! I have to find some inspiration for tonight’s menu. On that note, I’m off! Enjoy the day.
Great picture from the tea! Can you email it to me please?
