Home sick

Ugh. So, today I am home sick. On Tuesday I felt horrible from the moment I woke up through out most of the day. I went to bed early last night hoping that I would feel better when I woke up on Wednesday. No such luck. I don’t feel like I am full on sick – but I was hoping that if I stayed home today I could nip whatever is bothering me in the bud. The dreaded “beginning of autumn” cold has been going around the office. On Monday night I had a fever. I had a slight fever today, too.

One of the things I hate the most about being sick is when I eventually get hungry and yet I have no appetite and nothing sounds good at all. That is how I have been feeling all day. Blah.

I slept in, then I went back to bed at around 10 o’clock this morning. I woke up for a bit around noon. Then I went back to sleep at 1 and slept until 2:30 this afternoon.

When you do not eat, you do not have energy – and I hate feeling lethargic.  Finally at four o’clock I decided to try to get an appetite. I turned on the Food Network to see what the ‘celebrity foodies’ were cooking up on TV.

There was a lot of autumn food on the Food Network. Chili, bean soups, yum. Everything looked good – but of course I do not have the ingredients and I certainly do not have the energy to cook.

I eventually settled on a tablespoon of peanut butter, a graham cracker and a banana. At least this should give me some energy.

I really want some comfort food for dinner tonight. A soup or a chili sounds good. Bittman’s Pasta e Fagioli sounds so good right about now.

Hope you all are staying healthy. See you in a bit.
