Breakfast · Lunch

Cookies and more cookies…

Happy Hump Day everyone… I don’t know about you, but I think  hope  that the rest of the work week will go by quickly! I took the train this morning and I was so happy that I did not have to drive. I got some quality reading time in this morning, and thankfully did not fall asleep during the commute.

Once I got off the train I stopped at ABP and got a medium coffee. Almost immediately I thought that I should have ordered a large instead, but somehow the medium got me through the entire day.

I did not have breakfast until 9 o’clock. It was the same as it has been all week – except that I used almond butter from one of the Philadelphia area farmer’s markets that my mom picked up over the weekend. It was great – but the almond butter was dense and dry. It did not spread easily on my bagel thin. But it tasted very good and fresh, so I liked it overall.

Before lunch I definitely snuck in a healthy oatmeal cookie. They were a big hit with the girls and boys in the office today. Everyone was really pleased to have a sweet treat  –  and I do not think that anyone really cared that they were ‘healthy’ – except for me 🙂

At lunch I went for a glorious walk outside. It was a beautiful day today in Boston – which was an even better treat because the forecast was calling for rain on Wednesday all week!

Lunch was also very similar to Monday and Tuesday’s meal. I added baked potato chips (100 calories, 2 grams of fat – basically just air, not much substance, but I wanted a salty crunch with my lunch today for some reason!).

The salad had carrots, peppers, broccoli, radish and arugula in the mix.  The sandwich was on one piece of When Pigs Fly sour dough bread, with red onion, arugula, reduced sodium turkey, a smudge of dijon and half a piece of reduced fat Swiss cheese. It was such a good sandwich!!

After lunch I had another small cookie. Sigh. This is why I cannot bring baked goods into the office.

Tonight I am having dinner with one of my favorite friends, Andrew. We are going to Grafton Street for dinner and I am so looking forward to the meal. I’ll report back on what we have.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday – see you in a bit!
