For the last couple of days I have been hemming and hawing about one thing and I just don’t know what to do. I keep going back in forth in my mind, and I just need to come up with an answer.
The question I keep mulling over in my head is should I register for the Providence Marathon or not. The marathon date is May 6, 2012. A lot of people that ran the half marathon this past weekend were using it as part of their training for the Boston Marathon, which is April 16th. The half marathon was a great run for me, so I feel like if I kept up my training and just increased my miles slowly, I should be ready for the marathon. Not that I would crush it or anything – but I could hopefully finish it. I have always just wanted to complete one marathon in my life, and I just wonder if this is the year I should do it.
For days I have been staring at the elevation map of last year’s course:
Then I stare at the course map:

And I still just do not know what to do. 26.2 seems like such a long distance. Thinking of it makes me nervous. A lot of my friends have run marathons and they have all said it has been an amazing opportunity, and a life changing experience.
Well, that is about all I have for you right now. If you have run the Providence marathon, send me an email and let me know what you think about the course and the race. I would love to hear your thoughts!
I’ll let you know what I decide, I promise 🙂
