Wednesday Recap – Vacation begins!

Hi All –

Wednesday was the first day I could really tell that I was feeling better and on my way to getting over this nasty spring cold.  My appetite was also back!  To start the morning off, I had a bowl of Quaker instant oatmeal with no add ins.

It had been a while since I had this kind of oatmeal (banana bread!)  it was good and did the trick of getting me to lunch time.

Work was busy yesterday since I was leaving at 3 o’clock to start my mini-vacation. I got a lot of work done before 3 and stopped for lunch around 12:15. There was definitely not a whole lot of food at home and since Ben and I were going out of town for a few days, I did not go to the grocery store. However, I did manage to scrape a few things together for lunch!

The first item on the menu was a whole wheat wrap with Teddie all natural peanut butter and TJ’s organic low sugar raspberry jam.  This was a great wrap!

But not a very interesting picture!

The second thing on the menu was a Chobani vanilla Greek yogurt with blackberries and some Mix My Granola added in… it was a perfect combo. I love how Chobani keeps me full for so long…

The combo of peanut butter in the wrap, Greek yogurt along with the 8 ounces of skim milk I had really helped me through the afternoon.

I left work a few minutes after three o’clock. Our original plan was to get on the road at 3 and head to Maine. But due to Tuesday night’s Red Sox rain out – Ben was at the game with a couple of friends.  (The Red Sox won – sweet!) When Ben came home from Fenway he was bearing gifts. A hamburger from UBurger! My favorite hamburger place in Boston 🙂

Seeing this hamburger with my name on it:

made me really happy that I hadn’t had a huge lunch! The burger was wonderful. Since I wasn’t there to order my very own, Ben did a great job of getting me a cheese burger with tomato, lettuce, onion and pickles. It was awesome!

After the burgers we got in the car and headed to Maine. Right now we are in Portland… and in a few minutes I’m going to go explore the town. I’ll be back later with a recap of the day!
