Hey All –
Hope you all had a good Tuesday. My day got off to an alarming start when I realized that I had either (a) slept through my alarm or (b) my alarm had never gone off. Ugh. I woke up at 7 o’clock to a text message regarding something at the office – and I went in to an almost panic when I realized what time it was (who am I kidding – I think I was in a panic!) I was supposed to be on the road by 6:30 in the morning – and I was in bed at 7:05. I was out the door by 7:20 and at work by 8:20 somehow!
This is what happens when you are having a stressful morning and day at the office and have not bothered to think about healthy food (and have neglected to pack a breakfast or lunch for yourself!). You have a large blueberry muffin for breakfast from your office caf. At least that’s what happened to me. Thankfully Katherine let me convince her to have a quarter of my muffin – and I polished off the last 3/4.
I had a lecture to attend for a good part of the day at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. It was really cool to go over there and listen to some people in the industry talk about climate control and collections storage for museum objects. The lecture started at 11:30 Tuesday morning… right when my stomach started telling me that it was hungry. Meh. Thankfully I survived the lecture – it was very interesting and I am so glad that I went.
After the lecture I picked up lunch at Qdoba. I had never had a burrito from Qdoba – but ever since moving back to RI I have been craving a burrito from Anna’s. So today, I decided to try a non-Anna’s burrito. It was ok, but nothing like Anna’s (obviously). I had a grilled chicken burrito with lettuce, guac, a little bit of sour cream, pinto beans and rice. I ate a good amount of it because I was starving at 1:30 by the time I was able to eat it! I was very full after – my non-planned out day of food was continuing. 😦
The good thing about the burrito was that I did not need to eat again until 8 0’clock tonight when I had a small (and final!) serving of ratatouille and whole wheat pasta. It was great even on the third day! I loved the veggies and wonderful garlic flavor tonight.
After work I ran a few errands and ended up at the public Library with my mom. We checked out a few books on CD (great for my long commute these days!) and… drum roll please…. Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Vol. I & II. Sweet! I really loved looking through the books tonight and I can’t wait to decide what my first dish will be. The one promise I can make is there will be no aspic on the blog 🙂
Ok, it’s so late and I’m not prepared for the morning yet. I’ve got to motor – get things together and get to bed! Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that I wake up tomorrow at the correct time. 🙂
See you soon!
Oh thank goodness for the no aspic… my grandmother used to make tomato aspic and serve it on a bed of lettuce leaf and it would make me gag!!
Oh yes, don’t worry – the thought of it makes me queezy!! 🙂
