Hi Bloggies –
Well, it is the day after my birthday! The holidays go by so quickly, and all of the sudden it is January 3rd, my day of birth 🙂 We had a really fun, small get together at my house yesterday to celebrate. When I went to bed on Saturday, I made sure to set my alarm so I would have enough time to get to the gym for a short run before the festivities began. My mom was smart enough to remind me that it was “ok” for me to go for a short run since I ran 4 1/4 miles the day before. Because I had a lot to do, and I did not want to be exhausted for my friends later in the day I ran 2 1/4 miles on Sunday. I also truly enjoyed a Starbucks gingerbread latte after my run.
My friends Courtney and Roy brought a wonderful cake to help celebrate the day. I am proud to report that I blew out all 33 candles, too! (Yes, the cat is out of the bag – I am old!) It must be all the running and exercise over the past year.
I could not believe that Roy put all 33 candles on the cake… Here I am in disbelief, and Roy is devising a plan on how to light all of these candles.
Roy needed at least two extra long matches to light the cake:
I am impressed.
Umm… notice all of the smoke after I blew the candles out? Ouch. There were a lot of candles on this cake! I think Roy is a little shocked that I was able to blow them all out…
Thanks to my mom and friends for coming over and celebrating my birthday with me, it was a lot of fun! I am sorry to report that I did not take a lot of photos of the amazing food that was served during the day, but in the next day or so I am sure I will be eating the leftovers.
I hope that everyone is off to a great start in 2010!! I hope you all have a happy, healthy and safe new year!
Happy Belated Birthday! I knew it was the day and then I blew it! Glad you had a fun party. The cake looks delicious. Lots of frosting–my personal favorite part!
