Anthony Bourdain in Providence

Hi All –

Last night was the big night of Bourdain in Providence! Danielle, Tim and I went to hear him talk and answer questions for two hours. It was wonderful and very entertaining. I was happy to hear that he shared my distain for Sandra Lee. (eww)

The real highlight of the night however, was dinner cooked and presented by Chef Timothy:

The appetizers of the evening were freshly prepared crostinis with homemade hummus and carrot sticks. Danielle and I snacked on these treats while watching Tim in the kitchen, occasionally helping (Danielle and I are now experts in segmenting oranges!)

First course – a la Thomas Kellar – hard boiled eggs with a homemade Russian dressing. Seriously – amazing:

The main course: steak with a merlot reduction butter (I have to see Tim make this butter one day soon – it was divine) along with a salad of asparagus, green beans and orange segments with a perfect dressing of some sort. (I was a horrible food blogger last night! I simply got wrapped up in the wonderful food and forgot to ask questions..!)

Here I am about to enjoy my amazing dinner:

Looking down and admiring my plate:

Dinner was fantastic, as it always is when Tim has something to do with it! I have to hit the publish button because I am going out for a run. I had breakfast at 10am and I can feel myself starting to get hungry again – I need to get running before the full fledged hunger sets in!

Here was breakfast:

1/4 cup Steel cut oats

1/2 cup 1% milk

1/4 cup water

blueberries, cinnamon, a drizzle of agave, and a teaspoon (or less) of Barney Butter

Ok, I’m off – see you in a bit!
