Dinner

It is too hot to eat…

Greetings blog readers.

It is in the 90s today, and I have nearly decided that it is, in fact, too hot to eat today. I just had a lovely popsicle though, and it was rather refreshing.

I am still resting my leg, yet another day on the couch reading and letting the fans blow on me as I try to remain cool. This is the fourth day in a row that I have not had much activity, and my body caught on quickly. I have not had much of an appetite since Thursday.

So, I decided to write about Wednesday’s dinner today 🙂

Wednesday night my mom, Mark and I went over to our friends’ house for dinner. It was an amazing array of grilling, salad, and so on. We had sausage, chicken and scallops on the grille:

My friend Megan and I designed a lovely plate of fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil:

and there was a beautiful salad of which the greens came out of Nancy’s garden.

My plate was filled with all sorts of wonderful food:

It was such a wonderful summer dinner and it was a beautiful night outside.

I can also report that I am reading American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld.

I loved the book Prep by Ms. Sittenfeld, so I was really looking forward to reading this book – especially after Jenna’s rave reviews of the book. I love the genre of political fiction – it is rarely done well, and even though I’m only on page 100 I think this book is wonderful. I can see I will be making a lot of progress in the book today, with not much else to do. I am so glad that I do not watch a lot of TV – because having four days on the couch and watching TV would be really depressing, I think. At least I am using this time well and reading some great books! 🙂

OK, I’m signing off for now – but I’ll be back, I’m sure later today. Have a good day everyone – and stay cool and hydrated!!!!

  1. It is sometimes too hot to eat, but your salad looks crispy and refreshing. Glad to know you are healing.
