Hey All –
Wow, I have been reading some of my favorite blogs and people have been having some good looking oats lately. As I was reading, I wanted nothing more than a casual morning at home, enjoying breakfast on my deck while finishing up my book. Back to reality. Instead, I wake up at 5:45 shower, dress, pack lunch and breakfast and leave the house between 6:20 and 6:30 AM to make it to work at a decent time. Sigh.
But, even though I ate breakfast at my desk today, I still had some pretty darn good oats. Of course they were instant, (Quaker Low Sugar oatmeal is great when you need to go with the instant variety!) The key to a good oatmeal breakfast on the run is the mix-ins. Today I sliced up half a banana and stirred it into my bowl, microwaved the water, oats and banana for just over a minute. Then added a handful of blueberries and a spoonful of Barney Butter. WOW. I haven’t actually had BB in a while, and it was totally amazing. It made my breakfast super special.
Let’s see if this bowl can get me through until lunch time. If not I still have half a banana and more blueberries to snack on. 🙂 Have a great day everyone!
