I was just reading my friend Ned’s blog, and it got me thinking of writing a post myself. It has been ages since I have written a post for Sugar & Spice. I miss the blog, and I also miss writing for the blog, cooking food, baking food and eating normal food. I’m going to try and get back to normal this coming week.
I have been out of work since before Thanksgiving. I was in the hospital for 12 days. Apparently, I had a ruptured appendix and I did not know it. I thought I had the stomach flu for a week. Nope! It was something much more serious. Thankfully I eventually went to the hospital.
Since I have been home, I have been eating a lot of toast, soup and scrambled eggs. Last night I ventured into the unknown, and I ate Annie’s deluxe macaroni & cheese with my mom and my friend Katherine. I even had a small serving of salad – both were amazing.
I have seen a lot of movies in the past couple of weeks, and I can add a new favorite to my list – Adam’s Rib. Nothing compares to Katharine Hepburn, right?
I hate holiday shoppers because I actually need things at the mall – a refill on all things Kiehl’s – and I cannot face Nordstrom until at least the holiday shopping has subsided. I will say that the folks at Kiehl’s were sweet enough to send me a bag of samples while I was in the hospital! It was amazing having some of my favorite products while I was bed ridden for 12 days plus!
My family and friends were amazing, and at one point I ran out of space for all of the flowers that were sent to my room. I always had visitors, phone calls and cards. All of the thoughts and well wishes made my day (everyday).
I guess that is about all I have to say. If I make or eat anything amazing (doubtful – right now I am craving pizza) I will let you all know. But for now I just wanted to post something to let you all know that I’m still out there in cyber space – in case anyone was wondering.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
I don’t know you and haven’t followed your blog long, but I must confess I was worried. Glad you got things settled. I guess only in movies do people grab their right said and double over! Thankful you are still around! Happiest of new years.
Thank you for reading Jane! I hope to be back to my normal blogging soon! I hope you have a wonderful and healthy 2011. 🙂
