Hi Bloggies – Happy Friday!
I hope everyone survived the work week. I survived my week at home. Right now I am struggling to pick out a new book to read. I have a pile that I am studying:
I am still not sure what I am going to read next. I might start The Corner of Bitter and Sweet which is loaded on my nook. I will let you know what I decide on.
Breakfast this morning was lovely – our friend Annie came over for dinner last night, and she brought a fruit salad for me. I loved it this morning:
I loved the pineapples, oranges, grapes and blueberries. I also had half of an Arnold sandwich thin and a spread of Teddie peanut butter. It was a great balanced breakfast. I just loved having the fruit on my plate!
For lunch I had some of the salad that was left over from last night. To add some protein to it, I hard boiled an egg and added a few almonds. It was a great lunch:
For the weeks that I was sick (about ten weeks all added up!) one of the things I missed the most was eating salads. Now that I’m recovering, I am eating a lot of salads 🙂 This salad was pretty basic. Spinach, grape tomato, carrots, cucumber, with a balsamic vinaigrette that I made last night. You can save so much money by never buying salad dressing at the grocery store. Pre-made dressings are often seriously expensive, and they are usually loaded with sodium. I have a classic dressing that I usually make for a vegetable salad. It is balsamic vinegar, olive oil, a very small pinch of salt, some dijon mustard and freshly ground pepper.
Well, I’m going to sign off for now. I’m coming up with baking project for Valentines day – I will keep you posted. Stay tuned!
i’ve only read the friday night knitting club!
Kate – what did you think of it? I have read the first couple of pages…
Could not get into the Knitting Club, but Freedom was terrific. Will check out A Homemade Life – interesting title.
I have heard a lot of great things about Freedom. I really need to hurry up and make a decision – I’ve gone two days without a book, and it’s driving me nuts. For some reason I am finding the decision this time around very difficult!
i was reading it for a book club and kinda forced it
I read the Friday Night Knitting Club. I don’t usually like fiction, but I really liked this one. Made me want to try knitting again.
