The tale of the nonexistant Larabar…

I was starving most of the afternoon at work today. I thought I brought in enough food to work today, I had several containers for lunch:

But let’s rewind to breakfast and the early morning hours. I have to say that waking up at 5:45 in the morning after day light savings time is sort of like waking up at 4:45 in the morning. Which stinks. It is pitch black out. But I did it anyway, and I got my butt in gear, and got to work at 7:30 in the morning. I have to say that as much as I hate getting up at what my body thinks is 4:45 I love what it means at the end of the day. Soon enough I hope to be running (or jogging at least) outside after work. Spring is nearly here. Sure, it was snowing for a brief moment today – but I really think the warmer temperatures are going to be here soon!

At 9:30 I had breakfast – a Stoneyfield yogurt. At 10:30 I had a little container of granola. I was extremely happy when lunchtime finally rolled around. My lunch looked kind of pretty:

Spinach with balsamic, tuna steak, and about 1/3 of a cup of brown rice. It was a fairly well balanced meal, so I am not quite sure why I was hungry for three and a half hours after. I guess it will just be a mystery.

Most of the afternoon I was thinking of the Larabar that I thought was in my gym bag, which was in the car. When I got to my car at 3:40 this afternoon I instantly dug into my gym bag. Where I failed to find a Larabar. I made a mental note, and I will never travel without one now. I drove straight to the gym doing my best to ignore my hunger. I walked 2.25 miles on the treadmill and ordered Thai food on my way out of the gym.

I ordered my usual from Aspara Palace – nime chow and tofu and vegetable pad thai. I enjoyed the nime chow first and then had a serving and a half of pad thai – I even remembered to snap a [bad] photo of it:

I wish there were more vegetables, but over all both dishes were amazing – as always. I am going back to the fridge for a glass of milk, because I am still hungry. I hope you all had a great Monday and that the time change did not mess you up too badly! 🙂
