Saturday – bagel sandwich

My love for Saturdays continues. Last night I fell asleep around 10:45 or so and did not set an alarm for the morning on purpose. I slept until 10:30 this morning. Too much sleep? For a normal person, probably. But for me – recovering from surgery six weeks ago – I do not think so. I have been told more than once that when you are sleeping is when your body is the most productive, recovery wise. So I’m going with it.

I got up, had a cup of coffee, caught up on basketball and my bracket (really Georgetown??) and got my day under way. Eventually, after being up for an hour or so I ran two errands and then got myself ready for the gym. I had a 100 calorie Clif bar before heading out.

I walked and jogged slowly for just over three miles while watching Kentucky beat West Virginia – thankfully I picked Kentucky. It was a great game to watch. After walking on the treadmill for 45 minutes, I went to East Side Market to pick up an onion bagel.

I went home and made a great bagel sandwich with one egg, a slice of deli (Boar’s head) cheddar cheese, hot sauce and some ketchup. It was a messy but great brunch sandwich. I had cantaloupe and strawberries on the side.

I’m back to watching basketball – hoping Florida can beat UCLA. March Madness is so much fun!
