Dinner · Lunch

The last couple of days

For the record: I love college basketball. I tend to watch Duke’s entire season, and I get alerts whenever a game is about to start. I love the excitement of March Madness – which is probably why I filled out three brackets this year. Villanova and Vanderbilt really hurt me – but other than that I’m doing ok. 🙂 It is just so much fun!

Yesterday for lunch I brought leftover “french stew” (I think I am just going to call it that from now on) over whole wheat pasta. I also had it for lunch today. Both days I had a small piece of the baguette from WF, which is perfect with the stew. It’s not pretty, but here it is:

A stew like this is always better the next day once the flavors have some time to meld together. I missed the freshly chopped parsley and freshly grated parm reg on top, but I lived with it 🙂 I could have packed some containers of both, but sadly I did not feel like putting in the extra effort. For breakfast yesterday I had a yogurt. I had one today as my afternoon snack (I ended up splitting a bagel with Katherine for breakfast today – it was the first one I had eaten in ages, so good!)

I have really been enjoying yogurt lately. I’m not really sure why…

Last night I got my haircut for the first time since i was sick in November – it was such a treat! I went out to dinner after at the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse. A perfect place to get together, eat and watch some college hoops! They had all the games on tv last night – it was perfect!

My friend and I ordered a half order of nachos which was HUGE and we enjoyed them thoroughly. We did not finish them though. (Thankfully?) When I was ordering my dinner, I asked our server about the hamburger. It was listed as ten ounces on the menu which just seemed like insanity to me. I really wanted a burger, but I certainly did not want something that large. I am so glad that I asked – she said that the ten ounces was really big, but there was an option (not on the menu) for a FIVE OUNCE burger. It made my night! I happily ordered the Josh Becket (but five ounces) which came with cheddar cheese, sauteed mushrooms, red onion, avocado, lettuce, tomato and cajun rub along with cajun sauce. Wow! It was great – and it was spicy.

It also came with a side salad that was quite good.

That is about all I have to report. My post-workout snack really is holding me over well. But I have to figure out something for dinner. French stew, perhaps?? See you all tomorrow!
