Happy (belated) Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there 🙂 Mothers are amazing. I had a great day with my mom and my sister yesterday in Boston. Here is a brief recap.
We started the day at my sister’s apartment in Beacon Hill – my mom requested a group photograph to start the festivities. Definitely not my finest moment. Perhaps I am tired from my long run the day before? Thankfully I perked up after a while, and a fantastic latte that I picked up at Starbucks a few moments later…
After leaving my sister’s apartment, we walked down Charles Street – one of my favorite places in Boston. We went to one of our favorite boutiques, Crush where mom and I both bought really lovely necklaces. My necklace is turquoise (I’ll wear it soon) and my mom’s was fresh water pearls. We kept going down to the Commons and the Public Gardens where the Duckling parade was just wrapping up. What fun! There were a lot of cute little kids dressed up as ducklings…
We took lots of pictures during our walk… it sprinkled a little on us, too…
I love the swan boats:
We walked down Newbury Street and popped in to quite a few shops. I rested for a bit at Kate Spade. Thankfully I did not buy anything – it’s one of my favorite shops.
After much more shopping we ended up at Tapeo, a wonderful tapas restaurant on Newbury Street.
We were all extremely impressed with the strawberries, and our extraordinary bartender Chris let us snack on a couple.
While at Tapeo, I enjoyed the most amazing vegetable crepe. I can’t wait to go back for another one!
My mom and sister split two tapas. A baked goat cheese with tomato & basil and a grilled chicken breast with saffron, ginger and white wine sauce. They let me have a bite of the chicken dish, and it was amazing! I do not know why I do not do tapas more often – but it is going back on my list for cuisine to have more often!
It was quite a nice day in Boston for the three of us. We walked for hours, chatted, shopped and ate wonderful food. I cannot think of a better way to spend a Sunday. I hope you all had a fun mother’s day with your moms, too. 🙂
It was a wonderful Mother’s Day! Thank you!
You are welcome, Mom – it was great fun!
