I woke up still feeling less than my normal wonderful self for the third day in a row. So I ignored my 5:25 AM alarm and went back to sleep. I woke up again at 8 and got ready for work. It was sort of nice to have a cup of coffee at home and a bowl of Kashi Go Lean Crunch for breakfast.
I got to work by 10 feeling marginally better and at least a little more well rested than I did the day before when I only had three hours of sleep.
Lunch was pretty good:
I toasted sesame bagel, peanut butter and a bunch of carrots.
My first afternoon snack was a clementine which I did snap a photo of but it was really good. At four o’clock I was hungry and I knew I had a few hours to go until dinner. I was not leaving work until closer to 5 o’clock, I had what I was sure to be a long drive home in the rain, straight to the gym for a workout – so dinner was probably going to be sometime after 7:30 tonight.
SO I settled for a SECOND afternoon snack and a mug of peppermint tea. Over the weekend my running buddy gave me a pretty awesome granola / protein bar to try out:
I really liked this bar. It was only 140 calories, 3.5 grams of fat and 15 grams of protein. If I had not eaten something I knew I would be starving the entire time I was on the treadmill at the gym tonight – and this bar was small enough not to mess up my run and substantial enough to let me get through another three hours without wanting to eat my arm off. 🙂 Mission accomplished!
I got to the gym around 6 o’clock. I ran 3.3 miles on the treadmill and packed it in for the day. I was pleased to get some exercise in today – I was not able to go for my lunch walk due to the rain.
Dinner tonight was pretty awesome:
A salad of tomato, cucumber and balsamic; steamed green beans with sauteed almonds, and a wrap with chicken, grapes and celery. Oh! And two thin slices of sour dough bread from Seven Stars left over from yesterday. This dinner had a great mix of vegetables, protein and a little carbs. 🙂 I loved it.
Ok. I’m turning in for the night. Hope you all had a great day.
