The third day of January happens to be my birthday. SO, happy birthday to me, I guess. I could not fall asleep last night – I was up way too late watching Felicity. Thankfully at some point I was finally able to fall asleep and because of staying up too late, I was a bit tired when I woke up this morning.
I got my day started slowly, with some Morning Joe which was interesting because they were talking about the Iowa Caucuses and there is not much else I love more than presidential politics. And coffee. So I had two cups of coffee while I took my time waking up.
Finally I started getting my show on the road and mom and I went out for manicures and then we went to Seven Stars where we enjoyed breakfast.
I had a ginger biscuit and a small 1% latte. I always am impressed with how beautiful the lattes at Seven Stars look!
The ginger biscuit was (obviously) amazing.
I skipped the gym and running today. Instead I went out to lunch and had a beer (or two). Of course I forgot to take photos 😦 But I enjoyed a Rhode Island IPA at the Trinity Brew House and a lobster club sandwich at Bravo.
A note about lunch. In case you are a fan of turkey burgers, according to my friend, Bravo has the best around! Today I changed up my order. Instead of getting the Tuna Nicoise salad, I opted for the lobster club sandwich. I asked for the mayonnaise on the side, but it came on the sandwich. The lobster was great, and overall the sandwich was nice – but not as amazing as I remembered it to be. I was a little sad I did not go with the salad or the Croque Madame or another one of their menu choices. At least I know there will be a next time 🙂
After lunch we high tailed it over to the movies where we saw The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. What an interesting movie choice on one’s birthday. But it was a very good movie, and I am glad that I have finally seen it and that I did not go by myself because I was definitely freaked out at points.
Guess what I had for dinner tonight? Ice cream with cereal and milk! I was just a little hungry, and there was no cake to be found (there will be in a couple of weeks when my sister is home from her travels) so I opted for a non-traditional (super weird) dinner of birthday champions! Back to the normal routine tomorrow, of course. I followed the ice cream, milk and cereal with a big mug of peppermint tea.
I have to go back to work tomorrow – but I keep telling myself at least it will only be a three day work week. I am definitely going to take my birthday off from work from now on because I had a really fun day!
Happy birthday!
Thank you, Coral!! I miss you – let’s get together soon!
Glad to hear that your birthday was special. It sounded like a fun day. Yes, take your birthday day off! When I was working, I never could.
