Ok, so I have a bit of a cold, but so far it’s not quite as bad as I thought it would be. I think going to bed super early last night and sleeping in this morning might have helped. I’m also taking Zinc, drinking Echinacea Complete Care Wellness Tea, which might be helping. So far I have not needed cough medicine, Sudafed or any other severe measures to alleviate my symptoms.
I did not take photos of anything today. I also had to cancel yesterday’s run and tonight’s run which was really sad. I was especially looking forward to running this evening because I was going to meet up with a running buddy / training partner in Providence for our second run together. Thankfully she understood and agreed that it was best that I took it easy for the next couple of days. I am really hoping that nothing gets worse and that I’m back to my normal [awesome] self by Friday!
I hope you all had a good hump day. Here is a brief recap of the day:
Well, first I woke up at 1am. My knee (the one I had ‘runner’s knee’ in two years ago) was achey and feeling not so good. I also felt the cold moving into my chest. I was awake for a long time worrying about my knee more than my cold. I started icing the knee today. I’m hoping it doesn’t get worse.
I got to work at 10:30 this morning. When I got to my desk I ate a peppermint Luna bar for breakfast.
For lunch I had a cup of a healthy request chicken noodle soup with whole wheat noodles. Thankfully it was lower in sodium than most soups. If someone could please explain to me why canned soups have to be soooooo high in sodium, I’d love to know. I try to avoid them as much as possible. With the soup I had saltine crackers.
For my afternoon snack I had 12 pistachios and a coconut mini-Larabar.
Dinner tonight was whole wheat pasta, no salt added tomato sauce, a boca burger, sautéed spinach and Italian bread with garlic and Earth balance.
I might have some frozen yogurt in a bit. But I’m definitely heading to bed soon.
Good-night, bloggies.
I’m behind in my emails! There is a ton of sodium in soup which is awful, but look at the labels. Those that have MSG–also bad–have less sodium. I think the makers feel that customers will like the taste better if one of these elements is on the high end. Please! No sodium and no MSG, Campbells!
Ugh!! I agree Marilyn!!! NO SODIUM & NO MSG PLEASE! I can’t stand it. 🙂 Maybe we should start a campaign!
