Hi All –
I am just wrapping up a productive Sunday and Sunday night. I am returning to my roots – of packing lunch the night before! It is such a great feeling waking up in the morning, knowing that your coffee is being made and that your lunch is already ready and waiting in my lunch bag in the refrigerator!
Here is some of what I packed already –
Today while at Whole Foods I bought three cans of Amy’s organic (and yummy!) soup. I always think that Amy’s soup is a little on the pricey side. But today I realized that if I eat the serving size for lunch (one cup – two servings per can!) It is about 1.25 for each lunch (today the cans were about 2.60 at WF) and the Caf @ my office charges 2.75 for a small cup of soup. So, I’m saving money !
Tonight I opened the can of soup and put one cup of soup in my glass Pyrex lunch container. I scooped the other serving (which was just less than a cup – so I added a little bit of water!) into another container, which I will take with me to work on Tuesday. I love this Tuscan Bean & Rice soup. It has 5 grams of fiber, and five grams of protein per serving. It also contains about 25% of your daily sodium allowance. Meh.
I also packed a vanilla Chobani, Trader Joe’s fiber cereal (to add into the yogurt), carrots, red pepper humus, and Kashi 7 grain crackers. I am excited for tomorrow’s lunch!
As for today – I started off the day with a cup of coffee and a slice of Amish friendship bread which I toasted in the toaster oven with a small amount of Earth Balance on top of it.
This kept me going for quite a while! Ben, Marilyn and I really enjoyed our afternoon at the Decordova Museum. If you live in the Boston area, I highly recommend paying a visit! I love the Museum and I love Lincoln, MA – it is such a beautiful town!
While we were walking around the sculpture garden, I had to break into my emergancy Blueberry Cliff Zbar. I can’t say enough about these little things – i love them! They have saved me on more than one occassion recently!
On our way home from the museum, we stopped by Whole Foods because we were all pretty hungry. By 3pm we were settling in to watch the TiVoed Patriots game and enjoy our WF food! I enjoyed a great salad – the new addition to this creation was a perfect barley and chick pea mixture that also had artichoke hearts in it. My new favorite!
I actually did not finish all of my salad because I also enjoyed a great slice of pizza from WF!
After watching a heartbreaking day of football – we all decided to go to the movies. We saw Marley & Me which was soo good and at the end so sad. But I think we all had a good time at the movies.
After we got back from the movies, I was inspired by my neat and clean kitchen to make lunch and pre-set the coffee maker. I hope it makes for an easy morning. I cannot believe that I have to go back to work tomorrow – but at least it is only for two days!
Question of the day:
What is your New Year’s Resolution?
My mom and I are in a weight loss competition for $100. My New Year’s Reso is to lose at least 10 pounds by Feb 11th so I win $100 smackaroonies!
I don’t think I want to see Marley & Me if I’m going to cry in the theater. I hate crying in public!
Need to go to WF tonight and try to score the blueberry Z and lemon luna! And spinach, Arnold Sando Thins (and protein or double fiber), earth balance and greek yogurt!
Right now I’m eating this weird Clicks Bar I got from the ADHD conference I worked in LA. I don’t have any oatmeal, cereal or bread and I’m sick of eggs. Sooo, I’m eating this weird thing at 11. Bad. I know! I had a LOT of coffee so I’m not hungry.
Anyway the bar is formulated for kids and adults with ADHD so it has no refined suguar, preservatives, peanuts, eggs, wheat, gluten, or dairy. It’s high in omegas but low in protein (only 2 grams!). It’s shitty.
