I think I have the blog to thank for getting me to the gym yesterday afternoon! I wanted to have at least something to write about 😉
Yes, I did make it to the gym – and it really did not seem to be all that cold outside. I am very happy that I got out yesterday, because it is snowing to beat the band this morning and I am not sure I will be going anywhere today! Good thing I have at least some stuff to make a meal later today!
So, at the gym I jogged and walked most of the forty minutes I was on the treadmill. I did a couple of minutes of running – but mostly it was low key. Then I did a full half hour of strength training, and talked with one of my trainer friends for about 15 minutes about stuff. It was nice to run into Beth at the gym – it’s always good to see someone you know there!
It was a great work out, and I am so glad that I went. I knew I would be happy once I got there – and I was. While I was on the treadmill, I used my new pink iPod Nano that Ben got me for my birthday… and then I discovered that CBS was airing the Duke Basketball game – which made my day! I spent about 25 minutes watching the Blue Devils play and beat Georgetown. It was great! 👿
When I got home I eventually made lunch for myself. I made a veggie burger wrap with a Morning Star Asian veggie burger, 1 tbs fat free sour cream 1 1/2 tbs WF salsa, spinach, 1/8 cup TJ’s low fat mozzarella shredded cheese all piled onto a TJ’s tortilla wrap. What a perfect sandwich!
By the time I was eating, it was after 4pm – so it was a late lunch and an early dinner. The only thing I had eaten was oatmeal at around 11 AM. My day was totally messed up due to the late start. I was really hungry by the time I was having the second meal of the day – so I made a salad to have with the veggie wrap. In the salad I had more spinach, cucumber, tomato, carrots, orange pepper and croutons. I used a splash balsamic vinager as a dressing.
The salad was pretty good – but the tomato was a little sad, you could definitely tell that we are in the middle of winter because it did not have a whole lot of flavor to it. 😦
I really did not accomplish all that much yesterday. I did a load of laundry, some dishes and some reading. Not all that impressive!
While I was reading, I had a great mug of hot chocolate. This is hot chocolate that Ben’s grandmother gave to us at Christmas time. The mix actually had pieces of candy cane in it – yum! I had some mini marshmallows to add in, and the hot chocolate really hit the spot, since it was about 10 degrees outside! 😦
Last night I on-demanded a movie, The Women which was filmed in Boston. I guess it did not get great reviews, but I thought it was pretty good – mostly because I adore Meg Ryan! During the movie, I ate some great popcorn!
After the popcorn I enjoyed a few sour watermelon candies!
After the movie I watched a few minutes of SNL and eventually fell asleep – and I had a great night’s sleep waking up Sunday feeling very refreshed! I guess there is something to be said for having a relaxing Saturday. 🙂
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, too!
Heather! Missed you this weekend.
I don’t like the Chobani yogurt much, I like the Oikos better!
