Hey All –
I hope everyone is having a good start to their week. I’m super excited for the soon to arrive long weekend – and that is what is going to get me through this super busy week at work!
The one good thing about the week thus far (all two days of it!) is that I have been organized enough to pack pretty good lunches, etc. for work.
Ben and I actually got to the grocery store around dinner time on Sunday night. It was perfect timing because the market was not busy at all.
I think the skim milk is helping me stay full. Kashi Go Lean Crunch is full of fiber and protein… the added protein from the milk and fiber from the TJs cereal is a great combo!
Along with the sandwich, I had a few Baked Lay chips and about six ounces of skim milk. I am a little sad because I forgot to buy carrots at the store on Sunday night! Bummer.
I had an afternoon snack of Trader Joe’s trail mix. Trader Joe’s sells a lot of trail mixes, and I have sort of found one that I really like a lot. It has almonds, cashews, dark chocolate and raisins. A pretty good mix! This got me through the afternoon easily.
When I got home, it was about 6 o’clock. I was left wondering where the day went! Oh right – I worked a little extra at the office… that will do it!
I fixed myself a snack of reduced fat Triscuits and a Laughing Cow wedge.
When I have a snack of crackers after work, I like to put the crackers on a plate instead of eating out of the box. When I do that, I specifically measure out the serving size written on the box. A serving size of Triscuits is seven crackers, for a total calorie count of 120 calories. One wedge of Laughing Cow cheese is 35 calories. Not too bad!
For dinner I had a turkey hot dog! I do not think I have ever had a turkey hot dog before! I love Smart Dogs and Tofu Pups for sure… but at the store Sunday night, Ben picked up turkey dogs. They were quite good. I had a big glass of milk along with the dog!
You might have noticed that I have been drinking more milk these days. I’m trying to increase the amount of skim milk that I consume on a daily basis. Not only to increase the amount of calcium I get in my diet, but because I find that skim milk really keeps me full! I think skim milk is a great snack – it is fat free, low in calories and high in protein. Ahhh, perfect!
