Tonight I was finally able to try this new dessert that I had been really excited to try all week!
I cannot take credit for this new treat – Jenna has been eating this for a while, and my sister was the one that recommended putting it in the freezer for a “frozen yogurt” type dessert.
Here it is:
2 tablespoons of PB2,1 cup of 0% Fage, and a few more additions that I added… Here are some photos:
I started with one cup of fat free Fage, which I emptied into a bowl (easier mixing).
Then I added a splash of pure vanilla extract (this is my favorite brand) and then stirred in two tablespoons of PB2 (dehydrated peanut butter) – and popped the bowl into the freezer for twenty minutes. When it came out I added a small sprinkle of cacao nibs:
Jenna refers to this mixture as a healthy peanut butter moose…. I refer to my creation (thanks to my sister’s recommendation of the freezer!) as a protein packed frozen yogurt! Here is the nutritional info (I think you’ll be shocked!)
For one cup of frozen yogurt –
- 143 calories
- 20 grams of protein
- 10 grams of carbs
- 2 grams of fat
- 21% calcium
How’s that for a protein packed treat!? I only ate about 2/3 of my cup of peanut butter / Greek yogurt loveliness…. and I saved the remaining amount for Ben. I can’t wait for him to try it!
OK, I’m exhausted and am going to call it a night and go to bed. I recommend that everyone try this awesome dessert sometime soon!
Can’t wait to try the pb mousse!
