Breakfast · Dinner · Lunch · Workout

I don’t know about you guys – but this week is sort of dragging for me! I think it might be because I am so excited for our camping trip in the White Mountains this coming weekend… Well, only three days of work left!

For breakfast this morning I had cold cereal – raisin bran with crunchy granola.  It was the cereal that Ben’s mom picked up at the grocery store while she was visiting us this weekend.  I measured out one cup of the cereal, and had a cup of milk with it. I liked the cereal, but it tasted pretty sugary to me (probably because I’m not used to eating cereal that has sugar in it) the only thing it could have used is a little more protein. But I did get 8 grams of protein with the milk. I was hungry before lunch time, but that’s not too unusual for me 🙂

For a morning snack at around 10:30 I had another small oatmeal raisin cookie (thanks to Ben’s Mom!!! I love these cookies!)

For lunch I had a good salad, with a hard boiled egg for protein. The salad had avocado, tomato, green pepper and lettuce… I also had a piece of pita bread with roasted red pepper hummus.

I used a little less than a tablespoon of Annie’s Goddess Dressing… I love Goddess dressing but I had sworn it off for a long time because it is high in fat. I bout it again after a year or two because I was looking at the label and realized that while the dressing has 13 grams of fat for two tablespoons only one gram is saturated fat, and zero grams of trans fat… so it’s mostly healthy fat. I hardly ever actually use two tablespoons of dressing… unless it is a really big salad!

After lunch I was still hungry, so I paid a much un-needed visit to the office candy jar (I hate this thing!) and I had two mini dark chocolate milky way candies. They are 38 calories each – which seems like a lot for something so small. Meh. 😦

I did not have a snack until I got home and my stomach was making noise! I needed something to eat before I headed to the gym.  I had a piece of Arnold’s Double Protein Bread, a spoon of Trader Joe’s chunky peanut butter and a few semi-sweet chocolate chips. What a great snack!

I really did not want to go to the gym after a long day at work. But I was not able to take a walk at lunch, so I knew that I really needed to get some exercise.  I am really proud of myself for actually getting to the gym… I did twenty minutes of weights and forty minutes of the elliptical machine. Whoo-hoo!

Tonight Ben is at the Red Sox game – I really hope they can pull it out agains the Blue Jay’s!

Do you ever just have a craving for pasta!? That is what I really wanted for dinner tonight, and since I was on my own, I figured I would make it happen!  So my apologies for not having a super healthy and / or exciting dinner! But here is what it was:

The tomato sauce was a Trader Joe’s mushroom and tomato… it was quite good, but I did not come across many chunks of mushrooms…? 🙂

What about protein you might ask? Well, I had a tall glass of milk with a scoop of protein powder… so that’s about 15 grams of protein and I got a few grams from the pasta.  Maybe 20 grams total, I’m guessing. Here is my drink:

That about wraps it up for now. I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday night.

See you soon.
