Breakfast

Tuesday morning

Hey All –

I have decided to make my transition into a morning person gradually. The fact that I did get out of bed at 6:15 this morning was a huge accomplishment for me 🙂  So right now I am actually enjoying my morning, drinking strong coffee and watching Conan’s first Tonight Show (TiVoed from last night!) and reading the Boston Globe.

Yes, for the record I have already done this transition once this spring. I was doing really well until the beginning of May when I began working long hours at work de-installing and installing a new exhibit in the Museum. When you’re working late  in the evening, it’s a little hard to get up super early. That is when the “early” mornings ended for me.

Exercise will come soon enough. But I have heard over and over when you are trying to change habits, it is best to go gradually because you have a better chance of sticking with the end product if you take it one step at a time rather than try to change everything at once.  This is also true for people who are starting a diet and exercise program.  Many professionals in the nutrition world recommend working on your diet first, and then incorporating an exercise program.

Here is a brief update of what I am planning for breakfast and lunch today:

Breakfast: a small cup of yogurt and fruit, and a whole grain English muffin with a tablespoon of Teddie Peanut butter.

Lunch: a piece of “light” (?) quiche and salad.

Dinner: TBD 🙂

OK, I’m going to sign off for now – but I did want to let you all know that I am up and it is still before 7 o’clock in the morning! Yeah! 🙂

PS: No offense to my West coast friends – but I just cannot get over the fact that Conan actually lives in LA now. I miss him!
