Saturday – all out of sorts

Hey guys –

Wow, this is the first weekend that I have been at home in weeks. I honestly cannot remember the last time.  I have been enjoying Saturday, but I have also been totally out of sorts.

It all started when I accidentally slept in until 10:45 this morning!  I spent the rest of the morning with a cup of coffee, the paper and eventually cleaning our house.  Finally at 1 o’clock I decided to go for a run.  This was a problem for a few reasons:

  • I had not eaten breakfast or anything yet
  • I had only had a cup of coffee (no water)
  • It was 1 o’clock in the afternoon and it was hot outside!

For these three reasons, my run was not fun. I had originally decided to run my hilly route which is four miles. A few minutes into my outing, I decided to go a different shorter and flatter route.  Thankfully I had my little water bottle with me, but because I was so thirsty (dehydrated?) I finished the water about a mile and a half into the run. Ugh.

But I made it, run / walking 2.75 miles in the afternoon heat. Yuck.

When I got home I quickly made a banana with Teddie Peanut butter (a tablespoon) and also enjoyed a few dark chocolate chips and a big glass of water:

A few hours later I was finally ready for lunch (around 3:30 this afternoon!) and made a great tuna and veggie sandwich with amazing dijon mustard. I had walked to Great Harvest and picked up a loaf of Dakota bread made this morning. I love fresh bread more than anything in the food department, I must say. It made for such an amazing sandwich!

It’s been a rather boring food day, so that is about all I’ve got for you right now! I’m going to go for a walk in a little while, it’s cooled off nicely tonight!
Hope you’re all having a great weekend, blog friends!
