Oh bloggies. It is 6:30 in the morning, and I am home sick and unhappy. My body had done a wonderful job trying to keep this cold from striking me down… but when I woke up this morning and started getting ready for work, I realized that I felt a lot worse than I did yesterday and decided to give my body a much needed day of rest.
For a recap of the week, I must say that I ate really well and healthily for the past several days – which is probably one reason I have remained healthy for so long during this flu and cold season (by this time last year I had already had a cold at least twice and was feeling really run down).
Breakfast on Wednesday was half of a Luna bar (peanut butter flavor which is one of my favorites) and two cups of coffee with milk (one cup had light vanilla soy and the other cup was at work, 2% dairy milk – no soy yet at the caf). Wednesday was a busy day. I just love days when I have a lot of meetings, or trips to conservation labs because the morning hours go by so quickly, and I never get hungry! I finally had time for lunch a few minutes before 1 o’clock. My lunch was great on Wed (I’ll post pics to this post later). It was a brown cow 0% Greek yogurt, vanilla flavor which I added my usual combo of 1 teaspoon of ground flax, 1 tablespoon of PB2 and probably 3/4 a teaspoon of cinnamon. I love this combo in yogurt, oatmeal, and it would probably go wonderfully in other things I have yet to think of!
Along with the yogurt, I had a laughing cow light babybel, whole wheat crackers (reduced sodium of course) and a bag full of veggies. I seriously enjoyed having these left over vegetables all week! I think it is one thing I will start doing on a regular basis – cutting up veggies on Sunday night for the next few days, to make packing the lunch a bit easier and I’ll have fresh veggies every day during the week! Sounds like a great plan to me.
My afternoon snack? A few strawberries I packed from home.
Ugh… ok, I can’t stand it any longer. I’m hitting publish and going back to bed. The one thing I hate about colds is how it affects your head, your eyes, your ability to read or do anything productive at all. I hate feeling miserable.
Later gators. 😦
Oh no! Hope you feel better soon!
It’s the pits being sick. Hope you feel much better soon!
