Hey All –
If you have not been able to tell yet – I have been sort of blogging on the fly this week. It has been a pretty busy week at work, the commutes have been long, and I have been doing my best to fit in running and a “life” during the week nights, too. Right now I feel like there are not enough hours in the day!
Yesterday my lunch was not as successful as I was hoping it would be. I had a couple of bites of my orzo and vegetable mix, and I ended up throwing some of it away. I hate wasting food… but when something is not tasting good, sometimes I just cannot eat it. 😦
Thankfully I had a couple of good snack items up my sleeve. My vanilla Chobani, banana and granola was a life saver – simply put:
A lot of times I will eat a Greek yogurt on its own… but the mixture of the banana and granola was fantastic! I cannot wait to have this again – it really was my lunch, and it held me over until about 3:30 in the afternoon.
Afternoon snack was a Banana Bread Larabar (one of my favorite flavors) and a Ghirardelli chocolate square (milk chocolate and caramel flavor). I was so lucky yesterday morning, when I got off the T there were Ghirardelli people handing out free chocolates – way to make my Thursday morning!
The Larabar did not fail me (they never do!) I was fine until “dinner” rolled around at 6:45 last night. I had dinner with several college friends, as we were attending an alumni event for our school. There were cocktails (open bar! I had one glass of pinot noir) and stations. I paid a visit to the shrimp, pasta and dim sum stations. The food was rich, and the servings were small – a perfect combination.
I must admit that when I got off the commuter rail at 9:35 last night I was starving. I did not go to McDonald’s (although my evil stomach / brain really wanted a cheese burger and small french fry!). Instead I drove the mile home, and had a small bowl of Kashi cereal with milk. At least I did not go to bed starving!
I am excited for today’s lunch which is an Amy’s Black Bean Burrito.
(Lunch was packed on the fly today, too!) I also have a banana and a strawberry Chobani for later.
TGIF everyone! Hope you are having a great day!
