Wow. The last couple of days have been such a whirlwind!! A brief couple of words to describe :
Saturday I hosted a dinner party for six adults and two children. I visited the farmer’s market and the normal market for ingredients. The menu was: chicken parmasagna, with homemade tomato sauce, pasta, salad, and brownies with vanilla ice cream for dessert. I had an amazing sous chef, thankfully.
Sunday I got up sort of early (for me) and had to head to the gym because it was cool, and raining. I did 3 miles of interval training on the treadmill. Fun times (not really) I varied from 7.0 during my peak intervals, held that for 45- 50 seconds, and fell down to 6.0 for a minute, and repeated for most of the run. I ran at a 0.5 incline. After the miles, I did about 25 minutes of strength training.
By about 11:30 I was off to Boston to attend the Runner’s Expo at the Hynes Convention Center with my sister and a friend. We were at the expo for a couple of hours. We tasted a bunch of Clif, Luna, and Power bars. 🙂 I was so disappointed to see that LARABAR was closing their booth an hour and a half before the expo closed. Boo! But I did find out that the new cookie dough flavor will be coming out in July. I can’t wait to try it!
After the Expo, we grabbed a beer to chat, and then parted ways. My sister and I stopped by Trader Joe’s and Shaws to do her grocery shopping for the weeks and then carried a few bags back from Back Bay to Beacon Hill.
I enjoyed a grilled veggie burrito from Anna’s (best ever!) and then my sister and I went to see Date Night. It was pretty funny and entertaining – we both love Tina Fey and Steve Carell.
This morning my sister and I slowly made our way to Coolidge Corner (via Brookline Village) to watch the marathon with our friends Jennifer, Courtney and Roy. Fun times had by all. Patriot’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. I just love watching the marathon. Every single person that runs it is amazing, I think. I would sooo love to run the marathon at some point in my lifetime, but I do not know if that will ever be in my future.
Ahh, what a few days! I just got home at 5:30 and right now I am vegging on the couch, eating leftovers from Saturday’s dinner party and watching An Education. I am going to have a lovely evening, if I can stay awake!
I will be back to my normal postings tomorrow. Hope you all had a great weekend, and for those of you who had today off, I hope you had a great Patriot’s Day!
🙂
I bet you will try the Marathon some day. It impresses me that you can run 3 miles! Your dinner party sounded like a lovely time. Good food for sure!
