Walk

I Love Walking

Happy Thursday, all! Just a day and a half of work left until a long weekend – I don’t know about you, but I can’t waitThose of you who read the blog on a regular basis know that I walk almost every day at lunch time. Sometimes I walk for 15 minutes, sometimes for longer. I just think it is the perfect way to break up the work day – go outside, move around and get some fresh air. I am particularly lucky because my office is really close to the water and I have a lovely view.  Walking by the water never gets old. I love living in New England and being surrounded by the sea, the sand and the sea food – of course!

Here is what my walk looks like while I am at work:

Not too shabby!  I got home from work at 5:10 last night. Mark was already at my house, soaking up what was left of the sun on our deck.  Even though it was still about 90 degrees, we decided to go for a walk in the park that is really close to my house. We walked for an hour and twenty minutes! Most of the path is in the shade, and some of it goes by a lovely [large] body of water (a pond?) which is the home to about 50 swans. I love this part of the walk, and I love looking out at the swans and the lily pads.  The walking near the water made the air feel a little cooler, too.

Walking is so healthy.  If you are ever feeling tired, lethargic or down, pick yourself up and go for a 15 minute walk if you can. You might feel better after doing so – and who knows, you might decide to go for a longer walk and make it a routine. I love my walking routine.  😀

Get out and go for a walk this afternoon! If you live in Boston, it’s so much cooler today – only about 65 – 70, a huge change from the 90+ temperatures we had yesterday. Enjoy the day!

  1. You inspired me to do more walking. It’s a beautiful place here and I don’t walk nearly enough. It’s more fun to walk with someone so I will try to 15 minute walk alone. Thanks for the inspiration.
