The other day I paid a visit to the new bakery in my neighborhood. I was so excited to find out that Pawtucket was now the home to at least one healthy and vegan bakery – I was also surprised 🙂
The Wildflour Vegan Bakery is quite cool. If you live in the area, I highly recommend that you check it out. I had a great conversation with the owner of the bakery. He admitted that it is often hard to get over the stigma of ‘vegan’ food – but I think this establishment is surely going to help. The food is really fantastic.
After the conversation, and having a wonderful sample of lavender lemonade – I cannot wait to have more on my next visit – I decided to try a couple of items from the bakery.
It was lunchtime, so I had to go with something lunch like. I decided on the pizza twist because they looked fun and smelled tempting:
I loved the pizza twist. It was seasoned perfectly and quite tasty:
I was very impressed with the selection and creativity of the food at Wildflour.
The parking lot was packed when I arrived, which I was really happy to see:
We had just had a snow storm the day before – and I was happy to see the local folks out and about supporting local business. The atmosphere was lively and buzzing, the staff was enthusiastic and friendly. The bakery had a very welcoming environment.
I decided to bring home a peanut butter brownie and a red velvet cupcake, and enrolled my mom in a taste test.
The peanut butter brownie was amazing. We both loved it! The flavors were wonderful and the consistency was perfect.
I wish I had one right now.
The red velvet cupcake was also good – the frosting was delicious.
You can find the Wildflour Bakery at 727 East Avenue in Pawtucket Rhode Island. If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping by and check it out! Let me know what you think.
Well, I am off to bake. Oatmeal cookies tonight!
