Good morning, bloggies. Today was my day to get back on track. I hate to admit it – but Monday morning I did not get up until 10:30. I had stayed up late watching the Oscars (why!?) and was up way too late on Sunday night. So last night I tried to go to bed early – which is difficult when you slept away half of the morning.
The remedy? I made sure to set my alarm last night. I woke up at 8 o’clock and I was out of bed by 8:20. That is so much better – it gives me two more hours to my day, which I need today because I have quite a bit on my to do list.
I got started by spending some quality time with my new books by and about Alice Waters and a great bowl of oatmeal:
In the mix for the oatmeal:
1/3 cup oats
1/3 1% milk
1/3 water
small handful of raisins
dash of vanilla
two shakes of cinnamon
a teaspoon of Teddie peanut butter
On a whim I added a spoonful of protein powder… I was so thankful that it did not ruin the oatmeal. I know that some people put egg whites in their oatmeal, and I do not think I could ever try that. I might stick to protein powder.
It was a successful bowl of oatmeal. It hit the spot, perhaps my taste for oats is coming back to me?? I hope so.
I have a lot of things to accomplish today. I have to get started… see you in a bit!
