…is completely accomplished! What a great feeling. This morning there were two things that I thought about leaving for tomorrow – but somehow I convinced myself to do EVERYTHING on the list today.
I left the house at 10:45 (after making a couple of phone calls to my doctors this morning, crossing those off the list!) and did not get home until 5 o’clock. I sort of planned my day like that, as a test for my body since I am planning to go back to work next week. Since I have not been doing all that much, I needed at least one day where I am on the go – I do not want my fist day of work to knock me on my butt!
One of my errands was going to a place I have not been in months. The. Mall. Yes – I went there, and I am so proud of myself. I returned something to Nordstrom (it was a gift, but I had something just like it – an outdoor running jacket). Nordstrom is so great about returns. They gave me cash for the return, even though it was purchased months ago and I didn’t have a receipt. The tags were still on, so they took it back. I love how easy it was. I also love the fact that I walked around the mall for an hour and did not buy anything – yippee! I could have bought make up, I was almost convinced to get a new iPhone – but I said no to everything… even the 9″ tart pan I wanted from Crate and Barrel.
Whew. I felt so accomplished for getting out of the mall 🙂
Then I went to Whole Foods to get a coffee cup. I have lost my coffee cup, and the last few times I used it, everything I drank out of it tasted funny. So, I allowed myself a replacement. Tonight I need to find my water bottle. I know it must be somewhere in the house – I had a Klean Kanteen bottle in cart today, but I ended up putting it back. I figured I could look one more time at home for my water bottle. (I also saved $20 by not buying it!) Do any of you have a water bottle you can recommend?? Coffee cups and water bottles are part of my preparation for going back to work! I also need to start thinking about what I am going to wear, and what I’ll be packing for breakfast and lunch next week… let the fun begin!
I did not end up getting any food @ Whole Foods. I guess I just was not hungry for lunch yet. So, I bought my new coffee cup and then I went to the gym. At the gym I read my nook on the treadmill for 2.25 miles (40 minutes because I was walking sort of slowly). Then I biked for three miles, I love reading while exercising. For me it makes the time a lot more interesting and I’m not counting down the minutes or miles, which makes all the difference in the world.
After a quick shower at the gym, I went to one of my favorite markets – East Side Market. Let me tell you, I love any market that offers their costumers free coffee while they shop and EnviroKidz granola bars! (They were minis, but how fun is that!?) If I enjoy doing my grocery shopping, I do not mind paying a little more. It is all about the experience for me… After my work out it was 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I was starving. The oatmeal did a great job keeping me going all day, and before I got to the gym (at around 1) I had half a luna bar for fuel to get through the ‘work out’.
Thankfully I found a great sandwich at East Side Market… a chicken and pesto whole wheat wrap. I didn’t snap a photo, but I certainly enjoyed eating it! I loved that even though there was pesto in the sandwich, there was not too much and it was not oily. It was perfection. Even the portion was correct, the sandwich was not huge like so many you find at supermarkets and restaurants. The grilled chicken was superb. Was it because I was starving? I don’t think so. I ate the first half of the sandwich as I drove to my friend Nicole’s and then I ate the second half about an hour later. It was so worth 5 dollars!
It’s now 7:30 and I might start thinking about dinner. I hope you all had a great day, see you tomorrow!
