Rain, rain go away.

It seems like it has been raining for days. In truth, I think it has only been raining since Tuesday – but today is Friday, and I would really like the rain to stop. One of my friends is getting married tomorrow and I would like it to be a nice day for her. I have a race on Sunday, and I would prefer not to run in the rain.

Thursday’s Question: to run in a downpour or to reschedule running group? I felt pretty lame not running yesterday, but by the time we were set to head out it was raining so hard and there were thunder storms on the radar heading our way. So instead I went to the most amazing Whole Foods in the area (in Dedham) and had a joyous shopping experience.

I picked up things for Thursday and Friday dinners. Thursday night’s dinner was a great success. I took a recipe out of the July 2011 issue of Real Simple – a lemony couscous with shrimp, grape tomatoes, snap peas and scallions. I highly recommend trying the recipe out – it is a great, light summer dish.

Breakfast on Friday is a bowl of Kashi Go Lean Crunch with skim milk, and a tablespoon of both PB2 and chocolate protein powder mixed in. Lunch: carrots and left over couscous and shrimp. Dinner tonight is fresh pasta (thank you Whole Foods!), a grilled chicken breast and homemade salsa. Recipe and prep photos will be posted on the blog soon!
