Change in the routine…

This week has been weird. It is usually hard to come back from vacation – but throw in a few days of an unusual routine and it becomes even more of a challenge.

Today I am going in to work late because I am working late into the evening. I have to get going soon.

I did not pack a lunch last night – I saved the work for this morning. The cutting board looked pretty this morning as I was chopping up the vegetables for my salad:

Cutting boards are one of my best friends in the kitchen. I always feel like I do not have enough of them.  For the record, I have four of them. That should be enough for anyone.

The salad has spinach, carrots, orange and red peppers, scallions, cucumbers and avocado in the mix today. I packed a small bowl of chicken noodle soup to have for dinner tonight, too.

I took advantage of being home for breakfast this morning and enjoyed a bowl of Kashi Go Lean Crunch with blueberries and 1/3 of a banana. Is it weird that sometimes I miss the ability to have cereal in the morning? Yes. I think it is.

I had planned to make oatmeal for breakfast this morning. Two things worked against me. I slept in later than I thought – I was exhausted this morning. I slept until about 7 o’clock and then did not get out of bed until 7:30. I watched Morning Joe and dozed off for a few minutes. Thankfully AFM called me a few minutes after 7 to check in on me.  Morning motivation is always a wonderful thing.

The second thing that worked against me was the fact that I did not wake up hungry this morning. Last night before bed I went into the kitchen, got two graham crackers and put nutella and peanut butter on them. My favorite snack.

Anyhow. I am off to start my day. It is supposed to stop raining at some point today or tonight and then it should be nice tomorrow. I am so excited for a day without rain. I plan to run outside tomorrow after work.

See you at some point today!  Stay dry and have a lovely day.
