Dinner

Change of Plans…

Happy Saturday, everyone! I am super disappointed right now. I had so much planned for this morning. I was going to get a head start on my shopping for the day (I have a list of the few things I need to pick up and I was going to my favorite stores on Hope Street and Wayland Square to support the local shops that I love so much) and I was going to get in a long run.

However, I am feeling a bit under the weather, and my stomach apparently does not want me to leave the house. So right now I’m in bed still and hoping that my stomach will get things under control soon. Right now I’m too afraid to eat the oatmeal I really want to make and not about to test anything by drinking my morning coffee. Right now I’m drinking Gatorade. Sigh. I was really looking forward to this Saturday. 😦

Back to last weekend. As I told you, we had Thanksgiving dinner again at my sister’s request. Here is what my plate looked like:

My sister made her wonderful homemade cranberry sauce, and my mom and sister made this amazing mushroom stuffing. I’m not sure where I was when all of this cooking took place… but it was a great result! The cranberry sauce is beautiful and always tastes delish – I love it because it is not overly sweet. These two were my favorites on my Christmas plate:

Later in the weekend Sarah, mom and I built our first ever Gingerbread House. Can you believe we have never done this before??? It was a lot of fun – and it’s really hard! One of our friends brought over a Gingerbread House Kit (making me think it was going to be really easy for some reason!)

We took all of the pieces out and took an inventory:

And then in the next hour or so, we tried our best to assemble a Gingerbread House… it was a challenge!

Every time I see our gingerbread house it makes me laugh – so I guess that is a good thing. It was a great memory to make, a lot of laughing about how horrible we were at this!

I hope all of you have a great weekend. I’m hoping my stomach will calm down soon and I might be able to leave the house. I’m crossing my fingers! See you in a bit.

  1. Your gingerbread house is very cute! A second grade teacher I worked with had her students each make a gingerbread house every Christmas time. WOW! That would have been chaos, but they did turn out OK. What a fun memory for you. So sorry you are not feeling well today. Hope it goes away very soon!
