Quite the day…

If you went back to work today, how did it go? My day back was not the worst in the world. But it was very quiet in my office and building today. I was the only one in my department at work today, but I was productive and got a lot of things done in the midst of office quietness.

I packed my breakfast and lunch the night before, and I was glad that I did. I even remembered to bring in a little container of milk for my morning coffee and cereal for the week, which was a big help.

Breakfast was Kashi GoLean Crunch with half of a small banana and 1% milk:


Before lunch I took a 25 minute walk by myself. It was a bit windy, but I really wanted to get outside for a few minutes before the rain started. I am really glad that I got my walk in.

By the time I sat back down at my desk I was pretty hungry. Lunch hit the spot:


Peanut butter & jam sandwich on Arnold’s whole wheat sandwich thin. I had a little bit of peanut butter left over, so I added into my Greek yogurt along with the rest of the banana from breakfast. I tried to eat around the fruity jelly like part of the yogurt, I definitely ate the pineapple chunks which were great.

My afternoon snack was not photographed. A clementine and a handful of Wheat Thins.

It was a bit tough getting home from work today because Interstate 95 was closed between Boston and Providence for at least two and a half hours today. Thankfully my work / running friend Nichole stopped me just before I left the office and told me about the horrible accident that had happened on the highway. I worked an hour extra, and we both paid attention to the traffic reports via twitter and I left the office as soon as the interstate was opened again. It took me a little while longer to get home, but I made it and got to the gym.

Because of yesterday’s long run, I decided to take it a little easier for my workout today. I biked over five miles in 26 minutes and then did weights (legs and hips) for twenty minutes. I felt like it was a decent day of activity with my lunch walk and the bike and weight time at the gym 🙂

Tonight dinner was a repeat of last night. Whole wheat pasta, tomato sauce, a Boca burger for protein, and a garnish of parm – reg cheese. After eating this I was still hungry (????) so I had a little bowl of squash that my mom made today:


I did not eat the entire bowl, but it was really good and I felt like I received a good dose of vitamin A 🙂

When I got home from my long day, I had a long awaited package from GU waiting for me. This was so very exciting:


The two new flavors are in my house!!! Peanut Butter which I cannot wait to try and Peppermint Stick which I think also has a lot of potential. On my next long run I will definitely try one of them out and I will report back! Stay tuned….

Anyhow, it was a long day and I do not have much else to report. I hope you are all having a great week – and for those of you on vacation, live it up! (I’m just a tad bit jealous)
