Happy Friday, blog readers! Did you make it through the week relatively unscathed? I hope so. My body (mentally and physically) is definitely a little confused with this unseasonal weather we have been having – but I guess we can enjoy it now because on Monday night we are going to see a low of 28 degrees so be prepared. Don’t go and pack away your puffy North Face jacket just yet!
As I was on my way home from work last night I snapped this photo of a flowering tree – already in bloom, probably a whole month early. I just hope the below freezing temperatures in a few days won’t kill all of the beautiful spring flowers and trees we have been seeing. Even though the photograph is fuzzy can you make it out? Flowers on the trees already!!
Instead of going for a run last night I went for an extra beautiful walk with one of my great friends. I walked at lunch, too and covered about five miles on Thursday. It was almost too hot for me to run – it was over 80 degrees in Boston!
Because of the heat (and it never really cooled down) it was a little hard to sleep last night even though I had both of my windows open. I’m really not thrilled about summer temperatures in March – but I know I am one of the only people who feel like this.
Breakfast this morning was one of my classic fall backs – a slice of whole wheat bread with Teddie Peanut Butter. Classic and awesome – and very filling.
Somehow I managed to not have lunch until 1:30 this afternoon. I was pretty hungry when I finally got my turkey, vegetable and hummus wrap! I ordered this wrap at the sandwich station at a place near my office. I love how crunchy the spinach wrap is once you put great stuff in it:
The wrap as a whole was fantastic, fresh and very filling. When I first ordered it I only ate half of it. In the wrap were the following yummy ingredients: low sodium turkey, lettuce, hummus, a small dap of mustard (if you don’t ask for a small amount of mustard they pile it on and it quickly becomes a mustard sandwich – this happened to me two weeks ago!) a red onion slice or two, roasted red peppers (amazing!!) tomatoes, cucumbers, and that might be it. Two awesome pickles on the side which I quickly ate before I had even paid for my sandwich (the pickles are free so it’s not like I stole them by eating them too quickly – just in case you were wondering!)
The wrap:
I found the wrap itself to be kind of pretty and it reminded me of summer! By 2:30 I had eaten the whole thing. To celebrate Friday I am at Starbucks right now, enjoying an iced 1% latte with one pump of vanilla. It is super refreshing!
I am so excited that the weekend is finally here! I will be back to report on my day tomorrow – I’ll give you a hint, it involves going to one of my favorite farms and picking up some fresh produce. I see some cooking in my immediate future. Stay tuned and happy Friday!!
