Tuesday: Getting My Run On…

Good Tuesday evening, folks! I feel like I have had a pretty busy day – but I did not get everything that I wanted accomplished. I had goals, and I also had priorities – and running at least 4 miles was at the tippy top of my priority list.

So, as you know, I had a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee for breakfast this morning. I was really hungry this morning – and the oatmeal really did the trick. I did not put anything else in the oatmeal. (I am trying to consume a just a little less nut butter this week – yikes!)

I had a late morning snack – one that I was not planning on, and it kind of threw my day a little bit. Someone brought me a treat at around 11 o’clock – right when I was starving. A little package of Snackwell’s cookies arrived on my desk. Ugh. I should have been stronger – but I ate them! 210 empty calories – but they were good!

At 12 o’clock I went for my lunch time walk and it was hot. I was wearing pants and a 3/4 sleeved shirt – not really summer attire for a two mile walk. But it was good to get outside.

Lunch was good. A Greek yogurt, an English muffin with Barney Butter and an apple. I thought it looked sort of cute:

Almost picnic worthy.

After lunch I was still hungry so I fixed a cup of tea for myself:

In the afternoon I was starving yet again (I am particularly hungry this week!) and I came up with the best snack ever:

A mini box of raisins and a mini Larabar. I had a bunch of errands that I wanted to run after work – but I also knew that I needed to run at least four miles. I looked at my watch as I started driving home, and I knew I did not have enough time to get to the sports store, Target, the grocery store and get the run in. So I gave up on getting the new running socks, body glide and the things I needed at Target. I also gave up on making the dinner that I wanted to make.

At 6 o’clock I had another weird mini snack of 4 peanut butter cracker sandwiches. I am so glad I had the snack because I did not end up getting home until after 8 o’clock tonight!

My run went really well tonight! I ran a total of 4.25 miles and I ran into one of my favorite friends, Danielle and her family. I just love seeing friends when I am out on a run. It was a nice break for a few minutes chatting with Danielle, her husband and her daughter.

After my run I went to Whole Foods to get a few things for the week. I came home and put together the ingredients for tomorrow morning’s smoothie, and my salad for lunch. For dinner tonight..? Two small pieces of pizza that my sister ordered after her half marathon on Sunday. Thanks, Sarah for making my dinner tonight so amazingly easy 🙂

Well, I still have a lot of stuff to do and it is already 9:40 PM. How do the days go by so quickly???? There are not enough hours in the day sometimes! I hope you all had a great day – see you tomorrow!
