Tuesday

Two days until Thanksgiving!! I’m a little more in control of my excitement today – just in case you were wondering 🙂

I had every intention of getting to work really early this morning. Unfortunately, it did not quite work out that way. I got to work at 8 o’clock. I had a Kashi granola bar for breakfast because I had a lot to do this morning at work.

At ten o’clock I had my first snack of the day – an amazing (and small) piece of zucchini bread – oh my goodness, it was amazing and totally hit the spot!

I did not pack a lunch for work today – but I scored a bagel left over from an earlier meeting which made a great unplanned lunch. I toasted the bagel and added some Barney Butter and then I also had a Greek yogurt for added protein and a little bit of calcium.

At 2 o’clock I had another meeting, and my boss brought homemade pumpkin bread. I stared at it for a while as everyone else ate it. Finally one of my colleagues cut a half of a piece and I snagged the other half – it was delightful!

I took a half hour walk at lunch and after work I went to the gym where I read my book on the elliptical machine for 35 minutes. Honestly, if I wasn’t reading a good book I probably would not have gone to the gym tonight. But the idea of exercising and reading was enough to get me there!

Dinner tonight was a low sodium Trader Joe’s minestrone soup and a piece of bread (like I needed another piece of bread today!)

Right now I am icing my right knee. I am so stressed about this – I have no idea why my knee is swollen right now. I have not been running a ton, and I have been doing the elliptical as much as possible and walking almost every day. WHY would my knee start acting up all of the sudden? Could it possibly have been the day that I did a moderate weight workout last Monday???? I did some leg extensions, and other leg exercises but I have never had a problem with my right knee before. I am very concerned.

Tonight I am going to bed early, hopefully. I have a scheduled vacation day tomorrow – but I am thinking of getting up very early and going to work for a few hours before I get my cook on with the “day before race day” lasagna.

Happy Tuesday everyone! See you tomorrow.
